The first time I was able to unfreeze it by unplugging the tv, waiting about 1 minute and then plugging back in. Everything had to reload. The 2nd time on demand froze, that solution did not work.You then have do a hard reboot by pulling the power cord out and putting it back in. After doing that everything is normal again.
