Hello, I have a 2000 honda recon manual shift. I think it is electrical in nature this problem. But now, when I go out to start it, it will turn over, start, but will only idle, it will shut off when you give it gas, The quad will turn over (but slower), restart, but only idle, and once again, die when you give it gas in neutral.First, make sure that you firmly put it in gear, don't just ease into the shift lever. Second, with it in forward gear, with the park brake off, see if it wants to creap. If it wants to creep forward, then there is a adjustment knob right under the right engine access cover. "Typically" on these small carbs the idle mix screw does only the idle circuit, hence the name. BUT the screw might feed fuel OR air into the circuit so, depending on that, you may turn the screw opposite what you may think. A quick way to tell is to tape off a portion of the snorkel and see if it runs better. You may have to restrict more air to make it run better.
