Hur is an unincorporated community in Calhoun County, West Virginia, United States. Its post office has closed. Named after novel "Ben Hur." The village once had three stores and two grist mills. He commenced practice at Burning Springs, Wirt County, having married Elizabeth Wirt Roberts of that county in 1896. Shortly he moved to Cairo, Ritchie County, in 1898, where he remained in with a large and successful practice for 40 years.
